What people ask us
Can I buy the wine directly at the estate?
Yes. Write to agricolagiachetti@gmail.com saying which wines and how many bottles: we answer the same day and set a day for collection. Two days' notice is enough.
Is there a minimum order?
No. You can come and pick up a single bottle.
Do you ship?
Yes, worldwide. Shipping costs are worked out case by case, depending on where and how many bottles: just tell us in your order email.
How do I pay?
Cash, card or bank transfer, as you prefer.
Do you run tours and tastings?
Not yet. We are finishing the work on the cellar and the outdoor spaces, and visits will start after that. Write to us if you would like to be told when they begin.
Where is Podere di' Giachetti?
At Via Certaldese 2A, San Casciano in Val di Pesa, province of Florence: twenty-five minutes from Florence and thirty from Siena. It is the Chianti Classico town closest to Florence.
Which wines do you make?
Four: La Bigoncia, a Chianti Classico DOCG; I Viottoli, straight Sangiovese; I' Bugiardo, a Sangiovese rosé; and Vin Brusco, a white. The last three are Toscana IGT.
Does the wine see oak?
No, never. It ferments in temperature-controlled steel tanks; the reds then age eighteen months in concrete and six in bottle. There is no wood anywhere.
Do you make olive oil too?
Yes. Around five thousand litres of extra virgin oil a year from twenty hectares of olive groves, unblended. It is bought at the estate, like the wine.
Why the apostrophe in “di'”?
Because it is the Tuscan article: “di'” stands for “del”, just as “i'” stands for “il”. It is not a typo, it is how people speak here.
The brochure in preparation
A PDF with the estate and the wines, to download and print. We are preparing it: as soon as it is ready it appears here.
